Mountain Top Colorado Springs Engagement
I love getting to explore new locations, so when Nicole asked me about this spot outside of Colorado Springs I was all for it! And when I saw the weather would be sunny (but still cold!) I knew we would have my favorite kind of light as the sunset across the mountain peeks. And you can’t ask for more in the middle of December! Despite the dirt road washboards rattling us all the way up the mountain road and the wind which brought the temp down even further at the top, we had a blast! The sun was out and the trees helped to block the wind. You can’t even tell these two were cold! I always tell my couples the first 15 minutes are always a little awkward as you get used to being in front of the camera (and its totally normal!) but these two were having fun right from the start. I had SO much fun posing and directing them because they were having fun the whole time!
I first met Nicole through Hannah and Greyson’s wedding last March where Nicole was a bridesmaid. I was thrilled when she reached out to share that her and Bobby had just got engaged this October and were going to be married at the same venue next Spring! I knew our best chance at capturing their engagement session was when they were both in town all the way from Michigan for the Holidays. And just two days after their session was Nicole’s birthday! Such a special month for these two and a special season planning both their wedding day and starting their lives together next May!
I’m so excited for the journey ahead for both of you, Niccole and Bobby! I’m thrilled to be a part of it and hope these new portraits forever remind you of the joy and excitment of this season! Enjoy some of my favorites from their Colorado Springs engagement session in the mountains!
