There was nothing to dampen the spirits of Hannah and Greyson’s day at their wedding at Black Forest by Wedgewood! The night before we had received another eight inches of gorgeous, fluffy snow and I knew it was going to be the perfect backdrop for their day! There was so much excitement everywhere I looked the day of their wedding – their families and friends were just so excited to be together and so excited to be celebrating these two finally getting married!
Greyson and Hannah’s journey for the wedding day had its roller coaster moments as they planned and prepared. COVID threw in all its normal difficulties with trying to have a small wedding instead of a large one, and changing plans around as often as the government would change or lift restrictions. On top of all of that, since Hannah’s family had plans to move out of the area, they knew the best option was to move up their wedding day from the summer time to the early Spring. And early Spring it was with our eight inches of snow that dumped on us the night before! So it was that just a week or so before the wedding they were able to change their plans to have their reception at their venue instead of a family home! Talk about last minute changes but worked out so perfect!
But not the cold or the snow could change anything about the joy of the day! All day long I loved watching the singing, dancing, and goofing around that happened with everyone! The girls were always ready for a dance party, the guys all but thew Greyson up in the air post ceremony, and my favorite part was the surprise Hannah’s Dad had for the couple during the ceremony. Hannah’s Dad was doubling duty as the officiant, and as he prepared to proclaim them husband and wife, he promptly tore his shirt open superman-style to show off his “official officiant” shirt. What a memorable moment for them all and a fun surprise!
Their wedding day had the sweetest moments, too. I loved how Greyson and Hannah made a moment to sneak away to pray together before the ceremony (instead of doing a first look), and the guys and girls each gathered separately to pray over Greyson and Hannah before walking down the aisle. These are always some of my favorite moments! It’s always, always worth it to set aside that time for that stillness in the midst of the crazy pace a wedding inevitably brings. Believe me, you won’t regret it!
Hannah and Greyson, it was a joy and an honor to capture your day and celebrate alongside you both and your families! What a privilege to witness your beautiful day! I hope you’re having the most amazing trip to Cancun and enjoy some of my favorites from your special day as you lay out on the beach!!
Such a sweet first look with her Dad!
