This Chautauqua Park engagement was so sweet and memorable. I had the privilege of capturing Kayla and Patrick’s portraits for Felicia Marti Photography this summer. Kayla and Patrick have been planning their wedding and, like many so many couples this year, their plans have been disrupted by Covid-19. But they’re pushing through and rolling with the punches! And we made sure to get their engagement pictures in well before their big day this October. Their heart was set on going to Chautauqua Park up in Boulder and it worked out so well!
The park was not nearly as busy as it often is which was perfect for capturing portraits. We found the perfect spot to not only catch the sunset and the warm glow it casts, but to get a beautiful view of the Flat Irons behind them. And it seemed like the sun was in a hurry to set that evening, and we lost most of glowy light pretty quickly! But the wide open spaces meant we had lots of open sky light still flooded around us.
Kayla and Patrick met locally but it truly was a divine appointment for them both. Each had just moved from separate states to Colorado, and just happened to meet online. They hit things off and just knew right from the start they were meant to be together. Patrick picked out a dazzling ring and won her hand and heart.
I loved spending the evening with these two and getting to know them better! Its always the icing on the cake when I hear from a couple at the end of our session how much fun they had! I’m so excited for these two and all the adventures in store for them and I can’t wait to capture their big day up in gorgeous Estes Park this Fall!
