These Colorado Springs engagement pictures were extra special to me because just a few months prior I was capturing Emma’s triplet sister, Hannah, getting married! It was so fun to continue to be a part of the joy of their family celebrations this year, especially just months apart from each other!
Both Emma and Jenson grew up in Colorado Springs, so it was a natural spot for them to also get their engagement pictures there, too. The two first met in high school so we can officially call them high school sweethearts, too! They picked Ute Valley Park which is filled with fields, evergreen trees, and foothills mountains with views of Pikes Peak. Not only was it a beautiful setting, but we got lots of variety from the location alone! Emma and Jenson were even kind enough to hike all the way to the top of the closest foothill/mountain where we got beautiful shots on the rocks as the sun was setting behind them. It was so worth the extra hike!
And just wait to you see Emma’s gorgeous ring! They shared with me that it is a family ring passed down from her mom given to her by Emma’s dad. Which makes it all the more special and instantly becomes a precious heirloom for their newly forming family. I LOVE hearing details like this and incorporating a couple’s story in their photography!
And another thing I learned from Emma is that we both had the same first car – a Toyota Celica – and then we both had the same Mazda 3 Hatchback after our first car!! How crazy of a coincidence is that!??
Emma and Jenson, what a joy it was to spend the evening not only capturing you guys together but getting to know you and your own unique story God is knitting together for you both! I am so very excited to celebrate alongside you during this part of that story, and even more excited to capture you both on your wedding day in just a few months!!
