Back in February (before all that has happened in our lives with Covid-19) I got to capture Becca and James’ winter engagement pictures for Felicia Marti Photography. We opted for a sunrise session (because who doesn’t like to get a jumpstart on their day!) and wanted to make sure we included their two fur babies as part of their session. One of Becca and James’ favorite places is to take their to pups up to Cherry Creek State Park where they have an off-leash dog area. I love when couples pick somewhere meaningful for them to get their engagement pictures, it makes it all the more special!
It was freezing cold as I sat in the parking lot watching the sunrise slowly start spreading its way across the field and trees and skyline of Denver in the background. But as we got started moving around, the cold wasn’t so much a bother anymore (says the photographer who wore two pairs of gloves and socks and 3 layers of sweaters and jackets, haha). But we had so much fun despite the cold exploring the area together and capturing the beautiful glow the sunrise provided!
Becca and James’ story started in New York City where the two met while going to pastry school (doesn’t this already sound like a movie?) before they moved to Denver three years ago. The two fell in love not only with each other, but the beautiful Colorado mountains and big skies, too. Their mountain-side wedding is in the works for this Fall and I can’t wait to capture them alongside their family from near and far! In fact, we discovered that James’ family lived not twenty minutes from where we used to live in Virginia for five years!
I can’t wait to celebrate with these two on their big day this September! I just know its going to be a perfect day! But mean while enjoy some of my favorites from their winter engagement pictures in Denver!
