Last August I had the privilege of assisting and second shooting alongside Jenny Shipley Photography for her cousin’s wedding in beautiful Estes Park, CO. I remember going up their venue, The YMCA of the Rockies, many times during my middle school and high school years for our church youth group retreats. And I think the last time I was there was when I was in high school! It was like stepping back in time driving up onto the property again and seeing the YMCA statues, the same buildings, and the beautiful mountain views. Its funny to me as I think back to when I was younger and how much I took my surroundings for granted. What a privilege to be there again with new fresh eyes and a beautiful wedding day to capture!
Kirstin and Mike’s wedding was beautiful, indeed, though dark clouds threatened all day long. Much of their day did end up being in the rain, but they were such troopers willing to be out in it to capture some memories for them outside! In many pictures you can’t even tell it was pouring down!
Kirstin and Mike are both lawyers together finishing up Law School and starting into their new adventures. I loved hearing just a few of their stories during their day, and being so blown away by their dedication and their heart for serving others. What a joy and an honor to celebrate alongside them on their big day! Enjoy some of my favorites from their wedding day last August!
