These springtime mommy and me pictures were the perfect way to capture little Emerson turning one. One year birthday pictures are extra special when I’ve had the privilege of capturing little ones through their babyhood, too! Little Emerson is turning one this month and she only gets cuter each time I’ve seen her. We were hoping for spring blossoms to come a little early this April, and though we didn’t get lots of flowers, we still got lots of budding greenery which I will take any day.
One challenge we faced was getting little Emerson to warm up to the camera (and still recovering from a little cold). But I bet you can’t even tell she was not acting her normal self this particular evening! With extra movement, lots of snuggles, and some cake trying for the first time we still got lots of smiles and laughs. I always tell parents it feels worse on the other side of the camera as we’re coaxing and playing and bringing out those genuine laughs, but I’m always SO excited to dive into editing portraits from each session.
Elizabeth wanted to get lots of mommy and me shots with her sweet girl along with her own little cake smash. I was all about all the snuggly smiley moments with these two. Add in some Colorado sunshine and you can’t go wrong! I loved Emerson’s little cake complete with Spring flowers, too. Enjoy some of my favorites from their spring session!
