As I pulled up to the Castle Rock open space where we were taking family pictures, the tall grassy meadows immediately caught my eye. They were waving, glistening, really, in the wind as the sun was slowly beginning to set. “Amber waves of grain” started to catch on in my head and I was so excited when I realized we would be the only ones there.
The beautiful evening was matched only by the beautiful Springer family I had the privilege of capturing. Their darling kiddos are the same age as two of my own, and it always makes me think of how much fun my kids would have if they were allowed to tag along! I can just imagine how that would go!
My favorite part of our session was when I asked them to sing a lullaby, and their sweet girl immediately asked for a song I didn’t recognize. As they started singing, I realized it was a lullaby from The Czech Republic – where Jana is from. It was so neat to see a little into their lives of Jana sharing her culture and past with her kiddos as their family grew together here in Colorado.
Matt and Jana, spending the evening with you was such a joy! I’m excited for you to have your pictures to share with your family from back home! And I hope they bring you many more years of joy remembering these sweet moments with your littles!
