“Alright, ya’ll! I want you to look at each other and laugh!” I moved back as I gave my instructions to Art and Kathy. Without hesitation the two of them just started laughing, “Well that’s not hard for us!” they exclaimed with full smiles and laughs (just wait til you see!). In fact everyone was so eager to have fun that it made this session extra memorable!
It was not only Thanksgiving that brought these Colorado families together this past week but the great wish of their matriarch, Kathy, that they have a family portrait with everyone in it. It had been many years since they were all captured together and now was the perfect opportunity with kids home from college or on break from school. Its is no easy task to gather 15 people, including an adorable baby, together in one place at one time all coordinating so wonderfully!
How honored I am that they chose me to capture these precious moments together. I loved looking on as they gathered together watching the different generations, knowing that each one has their own precious story to be told. And in some small way I got to be a part of their heritage by forever capturing this family in this moment of time knowing they will go on from here to continue their lives and adventures. And one day looking back and seeing how much they’ve changed from this moment.
