“I’m being careful by the cactus, mama.”
This became the refrain from my little 2 year old Andy from our family vacation to Phoenix. I didn’t even have to be watching him by the end of our trip and he would let me know he was being careful. I probably was a little overly concerned one of my kids would fall face first into a giant, pokey cactus and it would become the most remembered part of our trip. Thankfully we had no cactus impaled little ones by the end of the week and we came away with many sweet memories of just being together. Board games, hot tubbing, watching horses from the back window, enjoying lazy HGTV watching, and peaceful desert sunrises. I’m so thankful for moments like these. Together is a wonderful place to be.
On our last day we set aside some time to capture some family portraits and to take family pictures specifically of my brother and sister-in-law’s darling family. So here are some portraits in the cool, January Arizona desert! I just loved the beautiful golden light, it was just so pretty!
