October weather in Colorado is always a little testy, even if the forecast calls for warm weather and a light breeze doesn’t mean you don’t end up with a snow shower, occasionally! And you never can tell when that snow is going to come, either! Already a week before this shoot we had our first snowfall of the season and boy was it cold! I knew most of our Fall color would soon disappear from the plummeting temperatures, but true to Colorado form a week later it warmed right back up again. And thankfully despite losing much of our Fall color, we still managed to find some gorgeous trees still clinging to their golden hues!
This beautiful family is still experiencing many of Colorado’s weather craziness after moving here to Castle Rock less then a year ago from Kansas City! But you wouldn’t be able to tell they aren’t Colorado natives, and in fact, I learned that Austin is Canadian like me! Its a rare thing for me to encounter a fellow Canuck down in the Colorado Rockies and I think it makes us all instant friends! I love the way God orchestrates our paths to bring together people that might not otherwise ever meet!
So despite our weather, we had the most perfect evening for a family session. I just love the glow we got through these tall trees, the blue and light hues this family wore, and their constant smiles had me smiling right back at them the whole time! Enjoy some of my many favorites from their session (seriously had a hard time narrowing down how many to share here with you!). Oh, and if you’re looking for a local make-up artist, Shannon’s makeup was done by Desiree with Lavish!!
