I think perhaps it was the hottest day of the year so far, the air sticky with humidity and the sun shining gorgeously over the Minnesota countryside. But the heat wasn’t going to dampen any spirits on this long awaited day. It was finally Rachel and Wesley’s wedding day! All the details had come together, the planning was done, and the two of them were so eager to be married. Their joy was contagious and filled the whole day, everywhere you looked was another smiling face.
So despite the heat and the bugs that threatened everyone’s comfort, everyone took their places for the ceremony. And for that hour, the bugs stayed away and the sunshine was just a reminder of God’s blessing on that day. The sweetest moment was watching Wes kiss his wife for the first time and come back down the aisle as husband and wife.
Rachel and Wes, thank you for the honor of allowing me to take part in the joy of your big day! And joyful is exactly how I would describe your wedding day from start to finish. It was so full of smiles and laughter and contagious joy in being together. Enjoy your honeymoon in Hawaii!
