When I moved back to Castle Rock, CO three years ago after being gone, I realized just how very much I missed the beautiful mountain views, the total lack of humidity, and the cool evenings and mornings of the summer. I often times will see the bumper sticker, “Not a native, but I got here as fast I could!” and they always make me smile. I don’t consider myself a native (even after growing up here, because I was born abroad), but I do so love it here.
So it was no surprise when I met Alyssum last year with their family having just moved to the area all the way from Ohio. And what a joy they all brought with them! It was a particular honor to capture their family because Alyssum is a talented photographer herself, so I was so thrilled when she asked me to capture their family this summer. I have so loved getting to know her better this last year, and it was so fun to see meet her sweet little family for the first time, too!
We ventured out to 17 Mile House Farm Park, one of my favorite spots in Parker, for their portraits. We had a gorgeous evening with some eager and energetic kiddos that made it so much fun to capture lots of snuggly, sweet shots of them all! Their joy is so contagious, just looking back through their pictures makes me smile!
Alyssum, thank you again for the honor of allowing me to capture your darling family! I had so many new favorites it was so hard to narrow them down for this post!
