Tuesday Tidbits! As always, lessons learned and/or things experienced this week –
For Father’s Day this year we took our kiddos on their first ever real hike up to Devil’s Head. It is a 3 mile hike and they were champs! It has been close to 10 years since I had last been back and I was so surprised to see that a tornado had gone through the area a couple years back. It had totally destroyed a section of the forest along the trail. We spent the rest of the hike up the mountain reassuring our 4 year old that tornadoes are very rare and that we were safe. We are baby hiking novices and used a hand-me-down baby hiking backpack that turned out to be super uncomfortable. Any recommendations out there for how to hike with a baby?
Some friends so generously gave us their old grill and we’ve been grilling up a storm ever since! Having a real gas grill is 100 times better than using our old charcoal grill. Just in the past two weeks we’ve been grilling out almost every other night. Steaks, corn on the cob, fajitas, potatoes – I find myself asking, “can I grill this?” Feels like summer!
So many friends are heading out on vacations and I’m living vicariously through them. I can’t wait until one day when our kiddos are a little easier to take traveling and we can explore the wide world together. Right now long car trips and flights sound anything but fun when trying to entertain three kids. I feel like seeing the whole world is on my bucket list! But seriously, mostly I just want to go to Europe!
And now that we’re almost into July I can officially use my new Erin Condren planner! I got it at the beginning of June only to realize that it didn’t actually start until July. So I’ve been writing up a storm in it and loving all the little stickers and extra little spaces it provides everywhere for writing little notes. Plus its colorful, has beautiful thick paper, and lets me plan out as far as 18 months from now! My organizing-loving heart is so content!
Blessings!
